We provide a broadcast entertainment and patient visiting service to the above hospitals in Greater Manchester, Salford and Bury. We are an independent registered charity, staffed entirely by volunteers. Northern Air Hospital Radio is a member of the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA).

Northern Air Hospital Radio started broadcasting in 1960. We have grown in strength and numbers since our opening and we became one of the first hospital radio stations in the country to broadcast 24 hours a day. Northern Air has certainly become a friend at the bedside to millions of patients since it first started.
