I have been with Northern Air Hospital Radio since January 2009, progressing up the ladder of fame and stardom, Along with Phil Salter our Programme Controller; we keep the music and software side of the station up and running, well most of the time.

We have been training presenters both old and new, on our latest playout system, and we never stop learning, because of this we have now started to introduce live shows through the day, my theory behind this is it nice to hear a voice when you are in hospital as you can feel alone and sometimes frightened, we try to make you day that little bit better. We will be adding more daytime live shows as presenters become available.

Recently we restarted the Saturday Sports Show together with Tony Graham and his guide dog Bailey, Simon Collins and myself. It’s hard work, mainly due to the fact that I don’t follow football or Rugby; luckily Tony & Simon do. I operate the desk and do the technical bits, as well as keeping Tony and Simon in check. It can get a little manic at times, the important thing is we have fun and enjoy ourselves. We have live commentary feeds from a selection of Premiership football matches, live guests and play a great selection of music.

If you are in hospital on a Saturday afternoon and you like sport and great music, tune in to Northern Air Hospital Radio on Channel 1.
